It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Frank Reda, who died peacefully in his sleep.  Frank is survived by his loving wife, Evelina; sons, Louie (Pat), Claudio (Shirley), Joe (Rose); 8 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter; his brother, Ralph (Flora) in Toronto and numerous nieces and nephews.  Frank was born in Carolei, Italy.  He immigrated to Canada in 1952.  His wife, Evelina and first son arrived in Halifax on December 19, 1953.  The family planted their roots in Victoria, BC.  The family grew and Frank made many friends and memories.  In 1952, he started working at Loonie Bros. as a labourer.  He then joined Farmer Construction from 1960 – 1980 as a cement finisher.  In 1980, Frank started working at the City of Victoria and retired in 1992.  He enjoyed his garden, his fig trees, his family and spending time with his friends.  The family would like to thank Aberdeen Hospital Staff for their care and support.

Sorry to hear of your father passing Claudio. We never met your father but we have this beautiful grape vine you planted for us shading our deck and bursting fruit. Obviously the Reda family garden secrets are rooted in our soil. Thinking of you and your family

She was a true inspiration and example of what a mother’s love is. She is a real Italian mom that would do anything for her children! God said there is no greater love than a man lay his life down for another; your mom felt that love for you Lorenada Geno and Luigi! And that is a fraction of God’s love for us. My prayer for you is that the Lord help you through this difficult time! It was a beautiful service. Love you forever, Manola & Bob

I feel very fortunate to been able to have grown up around Frank and his family. Many good memories, baling hay, watching Frank wrestle huge hogs, the figs, the home made wine and cheese and many great meals he graciously invited to share. I will always remember a little thing he would say to Claudio and me when we were working in the garage was, “when you leave, close-a-the light”
Our hearts and thoughts are with you all,
    Much Love
    Pres
