McDormand , Frances Grace (nee Earl) passed peacefully on February 13, 2014,  after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Frances (one of the ” Earl Girls”) was born on July 27, 1924 in Saskatoon. Frances loved and was loved. She enjoyed hunting and travelling with her husband, grew fresh vegetables for her family, loved to entertain and was the best baker “bar none”. On her artistic side, she made and decorated beautiful wedding cakes. Thank you Mom from all of us.

We also extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Gorge Road Hospital for their dedicated care.

Mum was a wizard when creating snacks for the many card parties, was NEVER a sous chef to anyone, and was a guide extraordinaire when it came to hunting camp!! All the good times at the Chief’s Mess on bingo night, the camping trips to Avorado Trailer Park way back in the 70’s, cooking oysters and clams on rocks around the campfire on the beach. Too many good times, to remember them all. She did her very best at whatever she did, I smile every time I think of her! As she smiles at us!

    Dear Gerry and Family,
I have such fond memories of our Fran at China Creek, Port Alberni. Norm and I loved sitting with you both at your camp site, listening to your adventures in hunting and fishing. Fran was never afraid of anything, always had a bright smile on her face and always smiling and laughing. Fran loved everyone and everyone loved her. She will always be in my heart forever. I am grateful to have had her as my friend. Love, Marleen Truesdell
