I was looking through my Dad’s navy stuff and found a letter from F.R, as Dad (Donald)referred to him. It made me wonder if he was still in Victoria, and I am sincerely sorry to hear of your loss. My Mom and Dad went out to Victoria in 79 for the reunion and met with his family. After Dad died in 1991 I wrote a letter to follow the one Mom sent you with the sad news. Today I found Olga’s reply. We lost my Mom, Audrey in 2011 to cancer. I am busy completing family tree stuff and it was a treat to look at your kind letter again. I am truly sorry I never made it our to meet you. I am still in Winnipeg, and only now learned that F.R. was from Manitoba!!! They say most sailors came from the prairies.
    Take care
