April 17, 1934 – January 3, 2015

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Faye Bell who passed away on January 3, 2015 at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, BC. Faye was born in Alameda, SK to Charles Fordyce of Aberdeen, Scotland and Edith Jean Russell of Winnipeg, MB. Faye is survived by her husband, Gordon Bell; her daughter, Trudie Milner of Yuma, Arizona; her sons, Mark Smith of Victoria, BC and Blaine Smith of Cochrane, AB; her step-children, Allan Bell of Calgary, AB, Robin Bell of Teddington, England, Carolyn Bell of Medicine Hat, AB and David Bell of Edmonton, AB. She is also survived by her brother, Cam Fordyce of Brandon, MB; her sister, Lorraine Quilliam of Edmonton, AB; twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Faye trained as a nurse and graduated at Brandon General Hospital where she nursed for many years. She also nursed in Calgary and Lethbridge, AB before retiring with her husband to the West Coast of British Columbia. Faye was loved by all her extended family and her many friends and will be sorely missed.

There will be no service but a Celebration of Live will be held at a future time. Faye was an ardent supporter of the Canadian Cancer Society over the years so in lieu of flowers, a donation in her name would be appreciated.

Gordon we are so sorry to hear about Faye. We have fond memories of you both when we first met you at Cooke’s Presbyterian Church in Chilliwack. I remember helping Faye at Manna making the jellos and other things to serve the hungry and street people. Also we loved her friendly smile and good mornings when we came into church each Sunday. So sorry to lose her. She was so precious.

Gordon, we were so sorry to hear of Faye’s passing. Joyce Cunningham saw the obituary in the Victoria paper and phoned us today. We really missed you and Faye when you left Cooke’s – you were both very special people and we were always very fond of Faye. You were both such good friends with Don’s Mom and Dad. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

We were shocked to learn of Faye’s passing. We attended Elkhorn School from Grades 1 to 12. She was a good friend. We had lost contact with her in the past years. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family at this sad time..
