To the Family of the late E. Donaldson,

I was very sorry to read of Ev’s passing. I had just talked to her on the telephone a few weeks ago about our O.B.H.S. Class of ’49 65th reunion which she, regretfully, said she would be unable to attend.
I have very fond memories of her days at O.B.H.S. She was Girls’ Sport Rep. on the Students’ Council, a prefect and “Matric Athlete of the Year”.

The world has lost an amazing lady. Ev and Harry are now together. I worked with Ev from 1966 until the closing of Hillside Safeway. Ev was such fun to work with and was a feisty, up front and a hard worker and loved a good laugh.
We had a code at the checkout ” Raisin Bread on aisle 4″ which would have to be checked out. She always got a giggle out of that. We enjoyed the time working there and this has brought back many memories of Ev and Harry.
She will be missed. My husband Jim and myself want to give our heartfelt condolences to her family and friends.
We now have a new angel. Rest in peace Ev…..always remembered.

Seeing Ev’s obituary in this mornings paper brought back very fond memories of when I worked with her at Safeway at Hillside. (now Bolen Books). I was Assistant Store Manager and Ev was wonderful to work with. With Ev, what you saw was what you got. She was a straight shooter and her cards were always on the table. I respect that. She was also quick to smile and delightful to work with. I am sure she will make a loving Angel.

A big loss for all. Thank god for memories, her very distinctive laugh, all the summer trips to Qualicum Falls, boxing day through the years, but what I will remember most is her unconditional love, she was my rock through my years and my safe place. Thank you mom (Mrs.D) .. knowing you and Dad (Mr.D) are again together and dancing makes it just a little easier.

It was with sadness that I heard of Ev’s passing. She fought a good fight staying at home as long as she did. I have known her (and your Dad Harry) for many years. Please accept my sincere sympathy at this sad time.
