July 5, 1928 to March 14, 2015

On March 14, 2015 we lost our mom, Nana, and matriarch.  In her 87th year, she passed away quickly and peacefully.

Rachel is survived by her eight children: Reid (Barbara), Frank (Theresa), Raymond (Kathryn), Jim (Sheri), Sandy, Robert, Ruby and Bobbie, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, her cousin Jim Holmes (Isabel), and many nieces and nephews. Rachel was predeceased by her husband George Jenkins and her dear companion, Chet Preston, as well as her brothers, John, Herb and Ken.

Rachel always looked for the good in people and took great pride in her family.  She was loved by all who knew her, and had a large circle of friends.  She was well known in the flea market community where she found great enjoyment.  Rachel’s infectious laugh and friendly, cheerful spirit will be greatly missed.  A Celebration of Life will be announced in the near future.

My Nana was a huge part of my life , when I returned back to Canada I spent a great deal of time with her . Eating candy and watching old black and white tv shows on repeat. She always had hilarious stories to tell me about when I was a baby . My Nana was possibly the most loving woman I’ve ever met , when I first got to reunite with her after living in Texas for a large part of my life we sat in chets apartment and she read my cards ( with regular deck of cards haha) and she swore that I am going to marry a tall blonde fair skinned man very soon , 2 years later I’m still waiting Nana 😉 . I love and miss her dearly . I am extremly proud to say she was my Nana .
I love and miss you Nana

Thank you Aunt Rachel for always reminding me I’m part of the family. We spent a lot of time together. You were always there for me and many other people. You taught me how to move mountains and we moved many together. Love always.

Reid, Frank and Sandy, and the rest of your family,
I’m so sorry to read of Rachel’s passing. She was quite a lady, with the most wonderful laugh!! She read my cards for me a number of times and gave me some very good advice. She had a loving, generous spirit and was definitely one of a kind. You are fortunate to have had her in your lives.
