Elsa McDowell (nee Krentz)

Elsa McDowell (nee Krentz) died peacefully at Royal Jubilee Hospital, Victoria, BC on April 21, 2009. In her youth, Elsa was very athletic and especially enjoyed speed skating and softball. Although predeceased by her husband Bob McDowell in 1992, Elsa continued to take pleasure in an active lifestyle. This included membership in several local lodges, weekly bridge and bowling games, and keeping up her green thumb in her backyard garden. Elsa is survived by her daughter Pat (Derek) Howes and grandchildren Julie and Andrew. She will be missed by many family, friends and neighbours. As Elsa was an avid animal lover, we would appreciate that donations be made to Victoria SPCA in lieu of flowers (3150 Napier Lane, Victoria, BC V8T 4V5). A celebration of Elsa’s life will be held at McCall’s Floral Chapel, 1400 Vancouver St, on Tuesday April 28, 2009 at 11am with a reception to follow in McCall’s Family Centre.
