I was deeply saddened to read today (in a previous issue of the Winnipeg Free Press) of the recent passing of Dr. Howard. In December 1972 Dr. Sheena was the attending physician at the birth of my son, Jason. Shortly afterward, Dr. Howard became my son’s doctor. I will always remember him. He was a true gentleman. Dr. Howard was kind, caring, gentle and quiet spoken. He had a wonderful, warm smile. There is a newspaper clipping of Dr. Howard’s jogging accomplishments in my son’s baby book. I believe it was printed in the Metro One (our community newspaper).
I have thought of both Dr. Howard and Dr. Sheena through the years and hoped that they were both enjoying their well deserved retirement. Both are so special in my life.
My very deepest sympathy to Dr. Sheena and family.

We were sorry to read about Howard’s death. Rudy was a patient of Howard’s and Diane’was a patient of Sheena’s. I also worked at Grace Hospital in the Recovery Room for many years. We met up with you in Mauai one year also, after you had retired and moved to Victoria. Our sympathy to you and your family at this sad time.

Dear Sheena & Family, Although it has been many years since we last saw you and Howard….I think it was on one of Jack & Char’s route marches, we have thought of you often when we would hear the goings ons in Victoria. So sorry to hear the news, I know we wish our lives as they were could go on forever, but God has other plans. You almost made 55 years, Bob and I almost made 35.
Though I did not know Howard very well personally, I knew him quite well through Dad. He would always talk of George, How and Bill with that twinkle in his eye. Lost touch with the cousins a lot when I moved east but I do remember Howard’s smile and quiet presence which was also mirrored in his brother Bill.
My thoughts and prayers go with you, may God hold you close at this time and comfort you in ways you never thought possible.
He did for me and I know He can do the same for you

Hello Sheena, we were very sad to read of Howard’s death. Ann talks fondly of Howard, her doctor, and both of you as friendly neighbours on Assiniboine Crescent.He will surely be missed by all his friends and family…
Coincidentally you were also in our thoughts last week when we went to see “The Stone of Destiny ” movie.

Hello Sheena – Mary and I were saddened to read of the passing of Howard. We have not seen you two since you both retired from Winnipeg in 1987. Howard brought son John into the world in 1961, son Paul in 1963 and you brought Russell into the world in 1966. Mary and I are still in the same house in St James and go to Phoenix in the winter.
