Native daughter of Victoria. Born on March 14, 1917 and died on February 26, 2009. Predeceased by her husband Bud, parents and seven siblings. Survived by her sister Lillian MacMillan of Langley and her brother Ron Ward of Parksville.
Mom passed away surrounded by her loving family. She leaves to mourn her children and their spouses, Ken (Diane), Bev Wright (Dave), Jennifer Leason (Rod), Mike Jones, Elizabeth McIntosh (Ron). Beloved grandchildren Trevor, Steve (Alyssa), Karina (Randall), Nathan, and Niki and many nieces and nephews.
Dorothy worked for Spencer Stores for 25 years and loved her job and the customers. She was a real people person and had a commanding personality.
Mom struggled with health issues for the past few years, the last year being particularly difficult but she fought the good fight as long as she could.
Her family was her passion and could not do enough for them. She is now at peace. A Service of Remembrance will be conducted in MCCALL BROS. FLORAL CHAPEL, Johnson and Vancouver Streets, on Friday, March 13, 2009 at 3:15 p.m., the Reverend D. Hatfield officiating, followed by a reception in the Family Centre. Tributes, if desired, may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 276 – 2950 Douglas Street, Victoria, B.C. V8T 4N4.
