Doreen Patricia Lowry, known to all as Pat, passed away on June 5, 2015 in Victoria, BC.  She was born in Jasper, Alberta on July 20, 1926.  Pat is survived by her husband Bill; her twins Theresa (Mark) and Tom (Brigitte); her grandchildren Jenna, Brandon and Nicholas; her sister Shirley and many nieces and nephews.

Pat was a long time resident of James Bay.  She transferred from the Penticton Branch of the Bank of Commerce to the Victoria Branch in 1956, renting in James Bay.  There she met Bill who was living in the house next door.  They married in 1959 and bought the last empty lot in James Bay at that time, building a house, where she has lived until her passing.  She and Bill were avid gardeners.  She would tell people that Bill looked after the vegetables and she the flowers.  She enjoyed travelling to visit her son and family wherever he was stationed, where she would say that they were treated like royalty; her one day a week looking after her granddaughter until she started school; her Friday afternoons spent with her daughter, tootling all over Victoria; her Friday and Saturday evenings out at the casino with her buddy Florence; and her glass of wine with Bill each evening while watching the news.  She was a member of the Esquimalt Legion’s Seniors Group and looked forward to their road trips.  Pat was a very friendly, outgoing, caring person, making friends of all ages, everywhere she went.  She was an active, energetic lady, with a huge personality, living a very full life, filled with lots of laughter, love and adventures with family and friends.  She will be very much missed by all.

A celebration of Pat’s life will be held for family and friends at the end of June.
