Donna, 3rd daughter of Jack and Jean Murray was born Jan. 17, 1952 in Lethbridge, AB and died Dec. 16, 2013 at home in Victoria.  Between those milestones she lived a life full of thoughtful challenge, compassionate understanding, extraordinary musicality and love for friends and family.  She enjoyed the tiny perfection of birdwatching, the airy freedom of cycling and hiking, adventuresome traveling, the soft sound of the French language and the uncomplicated lives of children who were inevitably drawn to her kindness.  Donna’s big heart and generous spirit went out far, wide, and deep, and she is greatly missed by all who knew her. During her 18-month adventure with ALS, Donna never lost her positive, pragmatic outlook. She leaves her partner of 31 years, Debby Yaffe, sisters Jill (Tom), Lynne, and Beth (Tybring), her “niblings” Heather, Jena, Mattias, Anders, Naomi and Evelyn , and friend Colleen.  In lieu of flowers, a gift to TAPS, where she volunteered, or the ALS Society, who gave so much support.

I have a wonderful memory of Donna & accordion at the Wild Women riding adventure in the Cariboo, some decade and a half ago. She lives on for me in that moment. My deepest condolences to family and friends
