June 7, 1939 – November 29, 2009

Passed away peacefully in Victoria Hospice. Don was born at home in Penticton, BC. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Christina; daughter, Carol-Lynn; sister, Edith Atkins (Art); sisters-in-law, Mary Street, Barb Jefferies, Brenda (Glen) Martin; brother-in-law, Brian (Donna) Lonsbury; his many nieces and nephews and Casey, his faithful companion. Don was a retired Transit Driver, affectionately known as Mr. Crosstown by his passengers. He was a member of the Million Mile Club for his million miles of safe driving. He was a fiesty spirit with a quick wit and a unique sense of humor. A special thank-you to Dr. David Clinton-Baker, Locum Dr. Li, Dr. Wai and Barb. The family would like to thank the Doctors, Nurses and Volunteers at Victoria Hospice and the Palliative Response Team for taking great care of Don. He will be missed but never forgotten.

A memorial service will be held in MCCALL BROS. FLORAL CHAPEL, Johnson & Vancouver Streets on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Don’s memory would be appreciated to Victoria Hospice or to the BC Cancer Agency.
