While dealing with lifelong health challenges, Dave’s attitude was peaceful acceptance.  Dave’s love for people was evident on the job at Capital Iron for 36 years.  He also showed his care for the children as a school crossing guard and enjoyed his times working at Camp Imadene.  He was called “Smiley” by many who knew him.  Predeceased by his son, Tim in 2009.  He is survived by his loving wife, Donna; son, Steve (Tricia); daughter-in-law, Meg (Kaitlynn); daughter, Terry (Bryan); daughter, Deb (Roy); sisters, Jean (Ken), Marg (Bob) and brother, Don (Betty).  Also, lovingly remembered by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A service of remembrance will be held at Westview Gospel Chapel, 313 Brunswick Place at 2:00 pm on Monday, September 29, 2014. Condolences may be offered to the family below.

    Donna & Family,

Just wanted to say that David was a valued employee when I was GM of Capital Iron. Every day he had that warm smile and pleasant good morning. He was so good with customers and it was a pleasure working with him. You will miss him but have the warmest of memories.

Dear Donna and family – Your David and my Jim are sharing space on the same page. I always loved to run into David as he was such a part of our teen years. He loved the Lord and he loved you and his family.
I chat with your son at Lumber World from time to time and so enjoy it.
God bless you as you start on the same journey as I am starting.

    We loved and were loved!

    Love, Roberta

Your dad was a good kind hearted soul and my condolences go out to you and your family. I have fond recollections of Dave leaving me tomatoes and zucchini on my desk. His legacy will live on through your friendly and upbeat approach to life. Take care.
