Daniel McLaren Millar
MILLAR Daniel McLaren, died suddenly while on vacation in Luxor, Egypt on November 10th, 2009. Daniel was born January 13th, 1937 in Regina, Saskatchewan and spent the majority of his life in Victoria. Danny is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Anne; his daughters, Janice (Doug) Symonds and Joyce (Ian) MacDonald; his grandchildren, Sean and Grant MacDonald; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Earl and Marie Smith and family and his three grand dogs. He lived for his family and found great joy in his grandson’s activities. Dan was the office manager (41 years) and long time member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters, Local 1598. He was a founding member of the Positive Living Centre of Victoria. He was an avid model railroad enthusiast and never failed to stop to view passing trains. He also enjoyed working in his garden and quiet walks with his family and his three grand dogs. Danny will be remembered for his brilliant smile, laughing eyes and a warm heart that enriched the life of everyone that new him.
A Celebration of Danny’s life will be held on Friday, November 20, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. in MCCALL BROS. FLORAL CHAPEL, Johnson and Vancouver Streets, the Reverend Kim Fairrell presiding. A reception will follow in the Family Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC.
