McCall’s Staff
David A. McCall (Owner – Funeral Director)David was born and raised in Victoria and is a third generation funeral director. He started in the funeral profession in 1977 after graduating from the University of British Columbia with his Bachelor of Commerce. David has been heavily involved with the Funeral Service Assoc. Of BC and was instrumental in the passing of the BC provincial government’s new Funeral Services Act. Licensed funeral director in BC.
Stuart Carrol (General Manager – Funeral Director)
Stuart was born in Winnipeg and grew up in Alberta. He entered the Alberta School of Mortuary Science in 1968 and worked in both Edmonton and Calgary. He has been a licensed pilot since 1971 and served proudly for 13 years as a General Duty Auxiliary Constable with the R.C.M.P. Stuart started with McCall’s in 1981 and became general manager in 1993. Licensed funeral director in Alberta and BC.
Craig McCall Williams (Assistant Manager – Funeral Director)
Craig was born in Vancouver, British Columbia and raised in both Nanaimo and Victoria. He graduated from Brentwood College School in 1993 and from there graduated with honours from the San Francisco College of Mortuary Science in 1999, obtaining his Associates Degree. Upon graduation he began his career with McCall Bros. where he now manages the Pre-Planning, After Service Concierge, and Community Outreach programs. Craig represents the fourth generation of the McCall family to be working for the family firm in which he takes great pride. He is married to Katalin Piller and has a son, Benjamin and daughter, Mia. John D. Ellwood (Assistant Manager – Funeral Director)
John was born in Vancouver, BC and graduated from high school in Victoria. He worked in Winnipeg; graduating from the Western School of Mortuary Practice in 1988. John is a member of the Rotary Club of Colwood. He served the Victoria Police Department as a Reserve Constable from 1991 to 1994 and as an Auxiliary Constable with the West Shore RCMP from 1994 to 2002. He offered his time working at Memorial Arena and presently works at Juan de Fuca Recreation Centre. John started with McCall’s in 1988 and became assistant manager in 1994. Certified celebrant and licensed funeral director in BC.
G. Paul Taylor (Office Manager)
Paul, a native Victorian, became a CGA in 1974 and worked for various local companies before joining the staff at McCall’s in 1987 as the office manager and accountant.
Audrey Waldie (Executive Secretary)
Audrey was born in Prince Rupert, BC, and raised in Vancouver, BC where she graduated from Point Grey High School. In 1985, Audrey moved to Victoria where she remains happily married to Rob and is a mother to 3 grown children. Audrey enjoys dog training and shows, power boating, and exploring the gulf islands.
Linda Herr (Secretary)
Linda was born and raised in Edmonton, AB. After living in Winnipeg, Waterloo and Vancouver, she and her family moved to Victoria. In the past, Linda was mainly employed by accounting firms before joining the staff at McCall’s in the fall of 2001.
Norman S. Fiss (Funeral Director)
Started with McCall’s at the beginning of 2000. Licensed Funeral Director in BC.
Richard Vigar (Funeral Director)
Richard was born and raised in Victoria. He took his training from the B.C. Institute of Technology. Richard worked in Calgary and the North Island before coming back home and starting with McCall’s in the spring of 2001. Licensed Funeral Director in BC.
Ron Davies MBIE (Funeral Director)
Ron is originally from Steveston BC, and spent most of his adult life in Langley on the mainland. He entered funeral service in 1979, attained his BC Funeral Director’s license and remained working in the lower mainland, and has joined McCall’s staff in 2008. Ron is also certified in Britain and is a member of the British Institute of Embalmers . Ron also holds a crematorium operator’s certificate, as well as being certified through UBC in radionuclide safety and methodology. He has published articles on radiation safety in the workplace concerning radionuclide therapy and the deceased. In his spare time he is a musician, actor, and entertainer, playing upright bass guitar and bagpipes.
Pamela Pysyk (Funeral Director)
Pamela was born in Edmonton and raised in small town of Boyle, Alberta. Attending Mount Royal College in Calgary, she completed her Funeral Director and Embalmer program, graduating in 2003. From there she worked in Athabasca and Edmonton, Alberta. Settling in Victoria, Pam joined McCall’s staff in late 2008. Pamela enjoys being outdoors, camping and swimming. She enjoys keeping in touch with her Ukrainian background and Ukrainian dances with Veslka, the local dance club. Licensed Funeral Director in British Columbia and Alberta. Certified Celebrant.
Jim Gilmour (Funeral Attendant)
Jim was born in Winnipeg and raised in Victoria. He has been in the retail sales industry for most of his career. He started working part time for McCall’s in 1994, before starting full-time in 1996.
Dave Perry (Pre-Arrangement Consultant)
Dave was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Dave is a graduate from the Salvation Army School for Officers Training and served as a pastor for 28 years. He served as president of Goodwill Enterprises for many years. As a member of the Victoria Rotary Club he continues to be involved in many community services. In 1994 Dave became involved in the pre-arrangement services concept. His vast experience enables him to assist the public in making wise decisions that meet their individual funeral needs. Dave joined the McCall’s staff in the early spring of 2002. Certified celebrant.
Audrey Morris (After Service Concierge)
Audrey was born and raised in Swan River, Manitoba. She has been involved in the service industry in Victoria, working with Totem Travel, University Travel, and Coast Capital Savings (formerly Pacific Coast Savings). Her husband, Doug, serves for the Royal Canadian Navy and they have two sons. Audrey is the sister of Kevin Armstrong, a former McCall’s employee and her father, Bruce Armstrong assists McCall’s as a funeral attendant. She joined the McCall’s staff at the beginning of 2007. Audrey helps families with necessary paperwork after a death occurs, and also before the time of need through pre-arrangement consulting.
