Catherine Muriel Beere

Catherine Muriel Beere

Died suddenly but peacefully January 6th 2012. Born in Vancouver February 9th 1924, predeceased by her husband, Paul in July 2011. Lovingly remembered by her daughter, Pauline and son-in-law, Mike Toms; grandsons, Brent (Courtney), Kevin (Tamara) and great-granddaughter, Angelina. Muriel served in the Royal Canadian Navy W. R. C. N. S. from 1943 until 1946. She then took a job with the B. C. Government with the Department of Vital Statistics. She was very active in First United Church and latterly with Gordon Head United. She was a strong, caring, and loving woman who adored her family. She had a passion for music and enjoyed singing in the church choir and latterly with the Melodears. Our sincere thanks to the ER staff at Victoria General Hospital and to the staff on 6 North for the excellent care they provided her. Special thanks to Dr. Merali and his nurse Irene.
A Celebration of Life will be held in MCCALL BROS. FLORAL CHAPEL, Johnson & Vancouver Streets, on Monday, January 16, 2012 at 2:00 pm with a reception to follow in McCall’s Family Centre. Flowers are gratefully declined. For those who wish a donation to Gordon Head United Church or the charity of their choice would be appreciated. Condolences may be offered to the family below.

Sorry for your loss, your Mother was a lovely person and I always enjoyed her banana cake. I was your (Pauline) babysitter in the 1960′s and lived on Wyndeatt ave.

  4. Kim Mitchell says:

I’m so sorry for your loss Pauline. I remember your Mom from First United, always singing in the choir and always with a warm smile. I recognized her immediately even though it’s been over 40 years. A testament to “good living” I’m sure.
    -Kim
