Mary “Mollie” Kathleen Davey

May 3, 2012

Loving mother and Nana; tireless volunteer and friend to all. Mary “Mollie” Kathleen Davey passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2012. Left to celebrate her life are her children, Sharon (Rick), John (Mary) and Corinne; the five joys of her life, her much loved grandchildren, Chelsea (Nathan); Kayll (Shannon); Joelle; Caroline (Dan) and Heather; her sister, Betty Tattam; nephew, David; niece, Margaret along with their families; as well as her two “extra” children, Scott and Christine Taylor and their families. As well, she will be missed by many friends, some of whom she has known since grade school. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Arthur, of 60 years in 2009 and her sister, Audrey in 1989. The recent engagements of Kayll and Shannon and Caroline and Dan filled her with such joy – oh how she would have loved to have danced at those weddings! Born to Harry & Peggy Kayll on January 14, 1929 in Mill Bay, BC; Mollie lived all but 20 years of her life in Victoria. Aside from her family, volunteering kept her busy – from being a Brownie/Girl Guide leader for Sharon and Corinne’s packs, running the canteen at the community center in Calgary while John played hockey, the MS Swim Program in Calgary and for the past 25 years, a very active member of the Royal Jubilee Hospital Auxiliary including two years as President.

A Celebration of her Life will be held at St. Mary’s Anglican Church, 1701 Elgin Road on Monday, May 7th, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Those wishing to attend are asked to bring smiles with you as she wouldn’t want sadness. If friends so desire memorial donations can be sent to Royal Jubilee Hospital Auxiliary, c/o Gift Shop, 1900 Richmond Avenue, Victoria BC. The family would like to thank the extraordinary Doctors and Nurses in the Emergency Room and on 4South at the Jubilee Hospital for making her last days so comfortable for her and the family. Condolences may be offered to the family below.
