I am so sad to hear about the loss of your mother. We met at the Langford Women’s Institute many years ago while she was still living in the house on Jasmine Ave. We worked together on the W.I. Christmas hampers for several years, shopping, assembling and delivering. Several times Gerry helped deliver the goodies while we gave him directions. We always enjoyed our lunches out sharing stories and laughs. She was a great lady always ready to help with W.I. causes. I will miss her.
    Regards,
    Julia Darby

  • Sandra Wylie

I am so sorry for the loss of your mother. Your mother was a great lady, we shared many laughs and stories over the 10 years that I was her housekeeper at Lion’s Cove. We had an instant bond of catering and life stories, recipes and cooking tips to share. She was always interested in my adventures, family and mother. They were in W.I. together. I will always cherish the fact that she treated me with the greatest respect and always told me how much she appreciated my help. Her memory lives on in my heart as one of the people I will truly miss.

    Lorraine Holt says:
To my cousins, Sandra (Don) and Susan (Chris) and also to Carolyn and family I wish to send my condolences at the loss of your mom. I remember many visits with Aunty Barb and Uncle Reg. We had lots of laughs together. We spoke often of Uncle Reg’s time in the service and his father, my grandfather Arthur Sinclair. Barb and Reg were the ones who bought me my first baby buggy when I was expecting my first son. I will always remember your mom. I used to bump into her on Dallas Road when she and her companion Gerry would be out for a walk. I remarked on her beautiful white hair and said she looked like Queen Elizabeth.
Our deepest sympathy to you and yours.
All my love, Lorraine and Hal Holt and family.
