March 2, 1927 – June 13, 2015

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Aunt Barbara. Barbara passed away in the loving arms of her niece, Cindy and husband, Lorne in their home where she had resided with them for the last 5 years. Predeceased by her loving husband, David; sister, Frances; brother-in-laws, Charlie Cooper and Frank Paterson. Left to mourn in her passing is her niece, Cindy and husband, Lorne McInnes; great nephew, Jeremy and great-great-nephew, Seth who always brought a smile to Auntie Barb’s face; niece, Brenda Shrive (Paul); great-nephew, Robert; great-nieces, Maggie and Susan; nephew, Mark Paterson (Karen); great-nephew, Branden; great-niece, Kaylyn and their mother, Dylene Paterson; loving niece, Cindy and husband ,Joe Stephenson; great-nephew, Mark and great-niece, Michelle; nephew, David Cooper and his wife, Heather and sister-in-law, Edith Paterson (Frank).  Auntie Barb was an aspiring artist, who loved the use of pastels and was very accomplished at her artistry. Auntie Barb with husband Dave, did some extensive travelling together over the years through-out BC and abroad. Auntie Barb enjoyed her bicycle rides with Dave down to Willows Beach and having their coffee and raisin toast together at the little tea house. Her little dogs Tina and Penny were her pride and joy. We will all miss you terribly Auntie Barb, but have comfort in knowing that you are with Uncle Dave. Till we meet again one day. All our love dear Auntie Barb always and forever. A special thank you to Dr. T. Rosenberg and his team, Dr. Manning and the Victoria Hospice team.

A Memorial Service and Tea will be held on Monday, July 6, 2015 at 2:00 pm at McCall’s Downtown, Johnson & Vancouver Street.  Donations may be made to the Parkinson Society or Victoria Hospice  Condolences may be offered to the family below.

    I am so sorry to hear of Barbara’s passing. Dave & Barb was our neighbour way back 1970’s. One cannot ask for a better neighbour. They were kind and gentle people. We moved several times and sorry to have lost touch.
    Unfortunaely my husband Ken passed away this past September.
    My symphathy and prayers are with you and your family.
