I knew Art from my time in the oil patch at Shell in Calgary and then years later crossed paths with him when I worked at PGC/IOS. I was so surprised to see him here!

He was amazing – at a fairly advanced age the took his commissionaires job the extra step to lead tours of PGC – very informed tours may I add, due to his background.

I walked by Art every day and we always exchanged a word.

Art always put a smile on my face!

All the best wishes at this time.

Art was a fixture here at IOS when I arrived and his friendly smile, extensive knowledge and great pride in the work of the institute were a pleasure and an inspiration to me.
My sincerest condolences for your loss.

My depthest sympathy. I wanted to let you know that I have only the fondest memories of Art when he worked as a commissionaire at IOS. He was always cheerful and generous with his time and energy. He helped made IOS a good place to work. He was a good man.

To the family of Art Walters — My brother, who lives in Victoria, sent me the notification of Art’s passing and we looked up his obituary in the Times Colonist. We were quite distressed at the news since I worked with Art for nearly all of his years at Shell Canada. To you – Sandie and I offer our most sincere condolences and share your memories of Art at his best. We often shared and enjoyed building projects on week-ends and I learned much from him.
All our best from Sandie and Bill Barnes
