Andre was my childhood friend. He lived in Cowie Road and I in Duncombe Road, Johannesburg, South Africa. We went to the same schools, played sports, smoked and drank beer together. He was intelligent, generous and kind. He was a brilliant but troubled man. I’m sorry we lost touch after his family emigrated to Canada. Condolences to Sarret, Julian and his mother Jane. Dr.Elmor was a fantastic father to all his children. He took Andre, Alister and myself camping in the Magaliesberg mountains. How lovely it was to be young, free and full of energy. Fond memories, good times shared. I miss you Andre. Rest in peace buddy. Matty

I haven’t known Andre more than 3 years, but We had a great friendship in the short time I’ve know him. I am so sorry for his loss. We had lunch after he had completed his radiation treatments and he was in good spririts. Unfortunately the cancer took control.. He was such a good person and good soul. So sad that he’s not here, we had plans for another lunch and good conversation..I will miss him dearly.

Andre is my cousin I have not seen him for many years, so his passing was sad, this my personnal farewell to him:

Everything about living well and good and right is wrapped up in the arms of love.
To love is to serve, to give, to be kind, and to help others.
To love is to have joy and to bring joy as well.
To love is to make this world a better place just by being in it.
To love is to create a little Heaven everyday while still here on Earth.
To love is to be the wonderful child, caring parent, tender spouse, fantastic friend, and beautiful person that you have always wanted to be.
To love is to become the bright, shining soul that God meant for you to become.

Fill your days with love, and then you will have truly lived. Fill yourself with love and you will be the best possible you. Fill your life with love and your obituary will take care of itself.
