Passed away peacefully at the Lodge at Broadmead, 
Victoria on December 12, 2014. He was born in Toronto on October 26, 1918. Predeceased by his wife Doreen, he will be greatly missed by his family; daughter Sharon and son Wesley, wife Jin Yan, her daughter Trista and his many friends in Victoria, Vancouver and Toronto.
Albert retired in 1982 with wife Doreen, both Majors in the Salvation Army. He spent over 30 years of ministry serving in small communities and urban centres in Ontario, Manitoba and British Columbia. Albert had a deep rooted love and care for the suffering especially those afflicted with Alcohol and Drug addictions. His wonderful singing voice and other musical talents will be sadly missed by all those who came in contact with him over his 96 years on earth.
A family graveside service will be conducted at Royal Oak Burial Park with a Celebration of Life Service to be later announced in January 2015.

Tina Albert was one of the sweetest, most gentle souls I have ever met. I was lucky enough to have known Albert for the last 9 years. We shared a birthday and he always made time to call and wish me a happy birthday. He was definitely my favorite patient. He will be greatly missed by everyone, this is for sure.
My deepest condolences to Wesley, Sharon and all of Albert’s family and friends. May he rest in peace and no longer be in pain.

Bernie and Kate Gray So sorry to hear of Major Albert’s passing. He will be missed sorely by his family as he will be by his many friends. Our friendship with Albert goes back many years. He had a wonderful voice for singing, and he was a blessing to many. In recent years, even in poor health, he was always helpful and optimistic in his email messages to friends.

Rose Brien Harrington So sad and sorry to hear of the death of Albert, known to us as Grandad Al. He was always so kind and understanding to us over the years even though we never met in person.
