David Colin Graham

Proud and loving father, devoted husband, encouraging teacher and larger than life to all who knew him. David was the principal of the Glenlyon Norfolk Middle School. At the age of 47, after sixteen months of a battle with Glioblastoma handled with grace and dignity, David died. He will forever be in our hearts. David was a highly respected educator, who led by example and put others first. He had a sense of adventure that gave him many opportunities, teaching and administering schools in British Columbia and Ontario. David was an adored camp leader in both day and residential camps. He loved the outdoors and especially had passions for canoeing, rowing and running which he shared enthusiastically with family and friends. David is survived by his wife, Jill; children, Patrick, Cameron and Christopher. Predeceased by his mother, Karen. Also survived by his father, Colin and stepmother Sherrill; sister, Beth and husband David Burrows; stepbrothers Andrew and Tyler Walker, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins with whom he shared quality time.
There will be a private family service, followed by a memorial celebration of his life in Victoria. This will take place at the Beach Drive Campus (1701 Beach Drive) of the Glenlyon Norfolk School at 2:00 pm on Friday, October 9th. There will also be a celebration of his life on Friday, October 16 at 2:00 pm at Timothy Eaton Memorial Church, 230 St. Clair Avenue West, Toronto, Ontario. Mark Lloyd Douglass, May 24, 1960 – Oct 1, 2009
Mark passed away suddenly on October 1, 2009 due to heart failure. He will be missed by many family, friends and co workers as he was a caregiver for both young and old while employed.
He is survived by his Daughter Brittney, Mother Janet Kuntsi, Father Lloyd Douglass, Sister Tina Van’t Schip (Ron), Sister Kari Bond, Brother Darren Karpuik (Wendy), Sister Lori Ost (Dan), many nieces and nephews and other extended family members.
A celebration of Mark’s life will be held on Saturday, October 10th in Victoria BC at the Mustard Seed Street Church, 625 Queens Ave 1:30PM-4:00PM. Those attending are requested to bring a snack for the tea to follow.

Sandra Lenz (nee Sills)

Lenz, Sandra (nee Sills) Jan. 21, 1964 – Oct. 3, 2009. Sandra will never be forgotten, greatly loved and missed by her family – husband Patrick, daughter Samantha, son Nathan, mother Margaret Sills (Regina), father Gregory Sills (Shirley) White Rock, sisters Karen Haverstock (Brent) Calgary and Darlene Toews (Vernon). She is also cherished by her in-laws June and Peter Lenz (Taber, AB) and sister-in-law Jennifer Eriksson (Chris) Calgary as well as her 7 nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was given courage and support from her best friends Monica Tolson, Linda Kuntz, Daryl and Wendy Wingerter.
Sandra was born in Vancouver and then grew up in Regina where she completed her elementary, high school and university education, followed by her Chartered Accounting designation while employed at Saskatchewan Provincial Auditors. Her move to Victoria in 1993 was soon followed by her marriage to Patrick on Aug. 13, 1994. To be a wife and mother are her greatest achievements along with a highly successful career at the BC Auditor General’s Office and the BC Pension Corporation, where she rose to the position of Chief Financial Officer. Sandra’s motto was to Live, Laugh and Love. She carried these through everything she did.
Love and prayers carried Sandra through her courageous battle with cancer. She kept strong each day for her family, accompanying them on an Alaskan cruise in August.
The Mass of the Resurrection and celebration of Sandra’s life will be held 11:00AM Wednesday, Oct 7 at Sacred Heart Church, 4040 Nelthorpe Road.

ERDEI, Marion (Green) October 12, 1942 – September 26, 2009. It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear Mother. She will be deeply missed by her loving children Shaun, Monica (Christer), and Lucas, the grandson she deeply loved and cherished, former husband John, siblings Sharleen Lapadat, Henry (Diane) Green, uncle George (Rita) Green, nephews, nieces, cousins and many friends.

RIVERA, Teresita Monton In Loving memory of Teresita Monton Rivera who passed away suddenly on September 29, 2009, she will be solely missed by her children, Alvin (Grace), Joylene (Mike) and Art (Janine) her grandchildren Alyssa, Camella, Gavin, Mik Mik, Joshua, Mikey. As well by her three sister Aurora (Daniel), Josefina (Don), Erlinda (Cesar), brother Manuel (Alice), Romulo (Amada) and her many nephews and nieces who loves her dearly and all of her many friends that cares for her. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd at 2:00 pm in The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 3067 Tillicum Rd. There will also be a visitation in McCall Bros. Floral Chapel, Johnson & Vancouver Streets on Saturday, October 3, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
Eily Margaret Chapman (nee Miles)

CHAPMAN, Eily Margaret (nee Miles) passed peacefully into her Lord’s presence on September 29. 2009 at Mt. Tolmie Hospital where she had been lovingly cared for during the past three years. Eily was born in Victoria on August 23, 1917 and married Chuck Chapman in 1939. In addition to raising her family, she worked for many years at Woodward’s. Eily was deeply motivated by her love for God which manifested itself in organizing Bible Clubs and teaching Sunday School to children as well as many other church activities. Eily leaves her daughters, Clara (Chapman), Jan (Ray) Mau, Fern (Larry) Johnson; grandchildren, Orianne (Thomas) Salley, Cara (Jonathon) Bratseth, Tyler (Elena) Johnson, Timothy (Elizabeth) Johnson; great-grandson, Simon Bratseth; foster daughter, Bonnie Mayer and family; Bev and Wolfe, Richard and Crystal, Jennifer and Andrew and great-grandchildren. Eily will be remembered as a “prayer warrior” not only by her family, but by the many others whose lives were touched and changed by her prayers. We would like to thank the staff at Mt. Tolmie for the tenderness and humour with which they carried out Mom’s care and for being a part of our lives. You enriched Mom’s last days immeasurably!
A Service of Remembrance will be held in McCall Bros. Family Chapel, Johnson & Vancouver Streets on Friday, October 9, 2009 at 2:30 pm.
Barbara Louise Horton (nee Dawes)

HORTON, Barbara Louise (nee Dawes) Passed peacefully into her Lord’s presence on Thursday, Sept 24th, 2009 after a 12 year battle with breast cancer. Predeceased by her parents Lewis (1984) and Pauline (August 14, 2009), she is lovingly remembered by her husband Phil; daughters Katie and Becky; brothers Harold (Martha Gail), Donald, David (Nancy), Robert; numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews; and countless dear friends. Her passing was just short of her own 50th birthday and on what would have been her mother’s 91st birthday. Barb was `the spark of life’ to many, many people; an initiator of ideas, events, parties and trips. A consummate cook, she hosted countless people in the family homes in Victoria, Chicago, Iowa, Tunbridge Wells (UK), and Tashkent, Uzbekistan. A compassionate nurse, her passion to serve her Lord in meaningful, practical ways was expressed in a wide variety of ways to people of all ages in many parts of the world. She is sorely missed. A celebration of Barb’s life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 3rd at 2:00pm at Lambrick Park Church, 1780 Feltham Road with a reception following.
