Jessie Carrier was born in Winnipeg but had lived for many years in the Strawberry Vale neighbourhood of Saanich. She passed away in Victoria on April 19, 2008. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Dem, her two children, Danny (Trudie) and Wendy (Barry Grover), four grandchildren, her sister, Wilma Lafek and her sister-in-law, Joyce Jacobsen. She was pre-deceased by her parents, her sister Eleanor and brother, Alan Goddard.
Jessie loved her beautiful garden, which she and Dem together made into a showplace, her trips to Laughlin, Nevada and the Victoria Grizzlies hockey team which she passionately supported as a long time season ticket holder. Jessie was a private but compassionate lady who was eager to help anyone in need. Respecting her wishes, there will be no service. If desired, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation in Jessie’s memory, would be much appreciated.
