Mr. C. Ford Warner of Victoria, BC, age 87 years, died
peacefully in Westbank, BC, on December 28, 2006, following a lengthy illness. Ford is survived by his wife Louise; his sons Brian (Kathryn),Birch Bay, WA and Dennis (Maureen), Westbank, BC. Also survived by seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his first wife Catherine. Ford was born in Morristown, New Jersey in 1919 and raised in Victoria. He served in the US Army in World War II. After starting his radio career in Vancouver in the early 1940s, Ford worked as a radio news director in California for many years, principally in Santa Barbara, before retiring to his beloved Victoria in 1967. He was active for many years in Victoria amateur radio with the call sign VE7DDF. He and Louise travelled extensively throughout the world during their 15 years of marriage, and he was also an active member of Knox Presbyterian Church. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2007, at 3:00 p.m. in MCCALL BROS. FLORAL CHAPEL, Johnson and Vancouver Streets. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 750 Hillside Avenue, Victoria, B.C. V8T 1Z4.
