John James Stephen Giza
June 21, 2006
GIZA, John James Stephen Passed away suddenly at Victoria General Hospital on June 17 at the age of 43 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughters Cassandra and Celina, his fiancee Robin Bruce and her daughters Kerry and Katy. John was raised in Victoria and Salmo, BC. As an adolescent John was an air cadet as well as an accomplished musician. He attended BCIT for Engineering and Geology which led him to his mining career. During his many years of mining, John became the captain of his Mine Rescue Team at Yellowknife. John settled in Victoria where he started Giza Industrial. John was the inventor of the RascalRule, after which he started up RockBusters and built it up to be a successful business. His endeavours also included various inventions and supplier of ProTect construction supplies. John’s family was the biggest part of his life, raising two daughters whom he loved very much. He was thrilled about his upcoming marriage to Robin Bruce, the love of his life. John was a unique man: unselfish, hardworking, and always had a great sense of humour. He valued the many strong friendships he made throughout the years. There are many ways in which to epitomize a person whether it is through actions or words, but every action and word attempted will never amount to John Giza. John had the ability to create a sense of light and happiness wherever he went. You could not ask for a better father, friend or fiancee. Funeral services will be held at McCall Bros Floral Chapel, Johnson and Vancouver Sts, on Thursday June 22 at 10:00 am, followed by a reception. Interment will follow at Royal Oak Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a trust fund for Cassandra and Celina at Scotia Bank, Account #40840-02895 23. 260232
