de Bruin, Hank – Well loved and respected in Victoria since he emigrated from Holland in 1954. Born in Utrecht on July 27, 1935, Hank came to Canada and had since established a large realm of friends and a beautiful family. Hank passed away suddenly on Wednesday, June 29, 2005 in Brentwood Bay. He leaves behind his family who will miss his zest for life and love of laughter – Kathy, his wife of 41 years; his daughters, Shannon and Toni (Dennis and their children, Michael and Nicole; her child, Raely); his son, Kevin (Sue); the 2 loves of his life, his grandchildren, Danielle and Levi; and his three sisters in Holland, Wil (Piet), Adrie, and Ria (Herman) and one brother in Victoria, Jos (Marcella). Hank had a passion for golf and soccer and was most proud of his grandchildren’s accomplishments in soccer and in everything they did.
A Celebration of Hank’s life will be held at McCall Bros. Floral Chapel, Johnson at Vancouver Streets, on Monday, July 4, 2005 at 2:00 pm.
